About Us
Our journey began when we became sisters-in-law. Laurie Hannoush was married in July of 2008, and of course had close ties with her soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Jennifer, in planning the wedding. She wanted to give a personal and unique touch to every aspect of her wedding and had a difficult time finding vendors that had the quality and uniqueness she was looking for. Having graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Design from the York/Sheridan Design program, Laurie ended up designing and creating elements to suit her style. She had so much fun, and the response was so positive that an idea was born.
Growing up, Laurie always had a marker in one hand, and a glue stick in the other. Her parents never thought much of her doodles and drawings, until Laurie won a contest to design an enviro-friendly bus in high school. Out of 5 high schools, her design was picked to be airbrushed all over a bus to be used on the regular Markham Transit bus route. Dreams of becoming a doctor or a lawyer quickly dissipated, and she began experimenting with different mediums: oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, and finally the neatest and best fit of them all — the computer. Laurie's eye for colour and creativity have made her work sought after within her community, but now it's time to see what lies outside of the box.
After following her passion in the arts and exploring acting professionally for some years, Jennifer did not want to stop there and chose to pursue a career in fashion design. With an ongoing thirst for creating unique styles of her own, she knew the right degree would provide her with the platform she needed to launch a career in the business. Upon graduating from the advanced Fashion Design Program at The Art Institute, Jennifer has worked in the fashion industry as both designer and wardrobe stylist. Using both designs of her own as well as shopping the stores for unique pieces, she has sucessfully worked with a number of professional photographers and their teams to style fashion shoots, editorials and shows. Her love for fashion stems from its ability to challenge her and allow her to implement her creativity in any way imaginable.
Graphic Designer meets Fashion Designer. Together, the two are a dynamic duo! In 2008, Jennifer and Laurie joined up and began to build their bridal business, Yours Truly. Jennifer started designing birdcage veils, fascinators, and unity candles while Laurie started designing invitation sets and photo books. New ideas were brought into the mix, and the product and service line for Yours Truly was created.
Yours Truly,
